Teams came from far and wide for the annual PSP Mid-Atlantic Open hosted at Paintball Central, in Rock Hill, SC. Every division, from Pro to D4, came flying out and road tripping from all over the U.S. and world.

The PSP warned us of a hot event, and they weren't kidding. With temperatures reaching the high 90's and humidity at intense levels, it has quickly become one of the most extreme events in a long time when it comes to physical strain.

With the heat came large plays, with players pushing it to their physical limits, point after point. Hydration and heat exhaustion definitely came into play towards the middle of the day.
The pro division proved that amazing game play can still occur even in the most extreme of elements. Russians came out strong, winning all 4 of their prelim games, with Damage, Ironmen, and Entourage going 3-1 in their prelims. Damage, fresh off their NPPL DC Challenge win, played top notch paintball and are getting used to being in the spotlight. Ironmen look re-vamped. Playing the paintball that made them a threat in the past year, giving them a life to possibly retain another PSP Mid-Atlantic Open win after winning the event last year.

Entourage on the other hand were on the money. With points running to mere seconds, and with talent of the newly added Bornstein brothers, they seem to be playing some of the best paintball in the pro-division.

D1 Hosted a variety of talent teams, specifically from the east coast, with teams LIFT, Wolfpack, and Jesters playing against talented and veteran teams, Cross-Eyed and Total Karnage Orlando.

D2 was some great matches as well. With a variety of overtime matches and teams emerging as top dogs, everyone was leaving it on the wire. UpTon 187 and Mirabel Impact came out on top, winning all of their prelim matches with a 4-0 record, with Arsenal Predators, Boom, Lost Boys, and NJ Jesters hot on their trail with 3-1 records.
D3 hosted a variety of teams, most of them going 4-0 to make up the top 4. Out of 24 teams, the advancing teams out of prelims were 4-0 and 3-1. Only one team made it through with a 2-2 record, Topgun Union. Teams like Assault, Underdogs, and Palm Beach Vipers were on fire.
D4 was solid with Avarice and Annihilators taking the top spots and only 4 teams advancing to finals.
